We are the lawyers of De Koning Vergouwen law firm.
Why would you put your case into the hands of our lawyers?
You take your chance with De Koning Vergouwen because you want a lawyer you can trust, who is your legal adviser taking a broad view.
And then we are also a firm that forgets all the fuss, with lawyers who can put up a most effective defence aiming at good results, and who at the same time will be dealing with your case in a most pleasant manner.
Quality, not quantity, that is our device.
Already in 1985 Jan de Koning started our law firm. His first practice was in a small office on the third floor at the back of the house, with only one case file, one answering machine and -most important- with fresh courage.
By now over twenty-five lawyers and ten secretaries work in the stylish and distinguished building in the well-known Vondel Park area in Amsterdam.
Then Jan de Koning joined a partnership with Michiel Vergouwen, Charlotte Koopman, Meena Kashyap and Arthur Hol. The firm is partner in the international networks Euroadvocaten, the European Law Group ELG and the Toledo Group.
Through the years we have a well-established reputation. As a result of being an ‘all rounder’, we are able to service complete fields of industry, for example the hospitality industry, international film, real estate, temporary employment agency branch and the taxi companies. Moreover, the MO-group (the single Dutch employers’ organization in welfare) refers its clients to our firm for legal advise. De Koning Vergouwen is a close business partner with the three biggest CAO (collective bargaining agreements) upholders. Together we observe the rights of millions of employees. De Koning Vergouwen also has a very special relationship with the Czech Republic in general and the Czech Embassy in particular.
In other words, we are appreciated by our clients and enjoy their confidence. Possibly because we divide our personal attention between legal hair-splitting and broad outlines. We do not hesitate to defend exalted matters as reasonableness and fairness, if necessary even with sword in hand and resourceful and astute pleading.
Moreover, today we pass on our specialist knowledge and methods to others through the De Koning Vergouwen courses of study.
We realise that all this sounds pretty pretentious. All the same we have our feet firmly on the ground and remain level-headed. The personal and informal atmosphere has always been our trademark. While enjoying lunch at the office, we still live in the real world where we make our own sandwich.
